Put your jazz hands away.
This is a PARTAAY!!
However unlike our other rather legendary jam seshs, this one’s got that coooooll, underground, I shouldn’t be here kinda vibe. The air is thick with that dark, velvett-y tinj to it, where you are walking through a room full hunched over faces, discussing street politics over cigars and bourbon while staring down walker byes- thats you.
This event will make you feel warm and un-easy at the same time, so you will resort to drinking heavily at the bar and talking to strangers with shadows over their faces about how jazz ain’t the same nomore. That’s until M.AE walks on the stage, and begins to sing her smooth jazz renditions of modern hip hop/R&B tracks that you swear on your mama’s soul didn’t sound like that when you heard them- but now you wish they did. You can’t take your eyes off of her and the richness she emmits. And are truely disappointed when she leaves the stage.
You grab your coat and your top hat, tip your waiter, and head out back to the street, but just as you are about to push a pull door, you hear Alex Bird performing a classic jazz track that not only is giving you nostalgic vibes from your dads record player, but has now filled the room with silence and captivation.
You take your seat at the bar, you order another whisky, and you let the tranquility take over.
