Toronto band, The Fame, have debuted their first single, “Wide Awake” and if this is a taste of what’s to come from this band, then I’m already ready for more.

The song “focuses on the “topic of self-reflection and the happenings of everyday life,” according to the band.

The song has a high-energy, pop-rock sound that’s both fresh and familiar—I’m trying to put a finger on who they remind me of but I can’t quite seem to figure it out. Sloan? Weezer? Someone newer?

Either way, the song is really tight for a first effort. The soaring vocals at the chorus are so damn catchy. This is definitely a band to watch.

Listen to “Wide Awake” below:

The Fame will be playing at The Cameron House on February 16th.

They plan to release their first EP in 2019.

Follow them on Facebook and Twitter for more info.
