50 outdoor concerts coming to Toronto this summer

Live music will fill the downtown air again this summer, as the Play the Parks series features 50 concerts, all open to everyone and free of charge. The popular series, back for its 7th year, presents lunchtime and evening shows in outdoor venues including College Park, the McGill Granby Parkette and Trinity Square.

Presented by the Downtown Yonge BIA, Play the Parks is sponsored by TD Bank Group and curated by Canada Music Incubator. The 2019 schedule has 50 shows at seven venues, starting on June 10 and running through October 7.

Play the Parks is part of the Downtown Yonge BIA’s comprehensive Music Strategy, launched in 2015 and still going strong.

Play the Parks is a win-win-win program. Music fans get to experience free, live shows. Performers reach new audiences and hopefully make new fans. And we are able to use under-utilized public spaces to create a common shared experience.” Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Mark Garner
